STATUS: Very rare  

DOCUMENTED COUNTIES: Dallas and Kaufman  

HABITAT: Post Oak Belt  

SUBSPECIES: Central Newt (N. v. louisianensis Wolterstorff, 1914)  

COMMENTS: Data on the Dallas County central newt specimen do not indicate what habitat it came from. No observations have been reported on this species from the Metroplex.
